[Once he's washed up and in dress shirt and pants, he comes across the catatonic lump that's Mabel. Despite the air about her, he greets her in his usually jovial tone.]

You as well, huh?

[ she turns her head up just enough to make it clear she's giving him a confused look ]

[He gives her a small smile.]

You and Tsuyukusa really are close.

...yeah, I guess?

[He straightens.]

Are you hungry? You sprayed all that candy earlier, but snacks are no substitute for a meal.

...why are you being so nice to me right now?

Am I? This is how I always am.

[ ...well, it's not like he's ever been mean or sad at her, so she can't exactly deny that. it just feels weird because she's such a big sad blah right now. ]

But...don't you have people you wanna be with right now after all that?

Hm . . . I suppose I do.

Then doesn't this make you one of them?

[ she smiles just the tiniest bit, and her tone seems to lighten, but only to allow for some self-deprecating levity. ]

Doesn't it? If not for you, we wouldn't have had a twist.

What? No way! You guys had like three twists already before I did anything anyway.

All the stuff with like--who was a bad guy, or a good guy turned bad guy, or all the bad guys secretly being good guys all along! Or my pigs being evil!

I was only able to join the villains, because you made a big deal about the color of our costumes. We wouldn't have turned good and evil on their heads without your pigs, either. Why are you saying that you didn't do anything?

[ slumps and shrugs ]

I just...never did anything helpful around here to anyone, this whole time. Why would it be any different now?

. . . I'm hungry.

[He turns away, though not entirely. His shoulder points in Mabel's direction.]

I don't feel like standing here and chatting. Let's grab something to eat first.

[ she shrinks a little, feeling like she's been dismissed. but...he's also inviting her to food? ]

Oh...uh, like what?

[He looks at her over his shoulder.]

What do you feel like eating?

Uhhh...I dunno. [ honestly, she DOESN'T feel like eating. ] What do you wanna eat?

It's gotten rather late. Something light would be good.

[He takes a step toward the cafeteria, poor shape though it may be in now due to the world's condition.]
