[ Well. Once Mabel's cried herself out in summer dorm, she decides to get some fresh air and spots Tsuyukusa just. Sitting there. In the grass.

So Mabel finds herself walking up to him and sitting down next to him. Waddles comes along with her, so she pulls him forward and holds him out. ]

This is my pig, Waddles. You can pet him, if you want.

[branches]

[Oh... animal. He does pat him.]

Is he your pet?
[He didn't think people kept pigs for reasons other than meat.]

[ Waddles is pet! He makes cute little pig noises of satisfaction. If Tsuyukusa tries to retreat his hand from the pats, Waddles will sniff after it, looking for more. ]

Yeah. I won him at a fair this past summer.

[Oh.... Well, alright, he supposes he can keep petting the pig for now.]

What's a fair?

Oh, it's like...this big party a town throws once a year! There's usually carnival games and food and sometimes outdoorsy stuff like corn mazes or something. There was a farmer this summer who'd let you pick a pig to keep for yourself if you guessed how much it weighed.

[Considers this for a long moment, still patting Waddles.]

It sounds noisy, but I guess that's the sort of thing humans do for fun, right? All crowd around the same place and do activities and eat food.

[ she chuckles a little, half-heartedly. ]

Yeah, they're pretty great.

What do you mean, 'humans', though? You look pretty human to me.

[Wow it is much easier to talk to Mabel when she is demoralized!!! No booping at all.]

I guess, but this isn't my real form. I'm a tree spirit. That's probably why Manwol thought I might speak squirrel.

Whoaaa, a tree spirit? So does that mean one of the trees on campus somewhere is your real form?

[He shakes his head.]

Normally, yes. If we were back home, that would be true. But I've looked all over and my tree isn't here. So there's some sort of magic at play that's keeping me rooted here, I guess.

[ She laughs ]

'Rooted.' Good one!

Soooo...what kind of tree are you, then?

[Me having a crisis and yelling at Snow bc it's never said and I have no idea.]

A gingko, the same as my ancestor!
[He's proud of this for some reason.]

I have no idea what that is, but it sounds fun! Really cute.

So then what made you turn into a boy? And why a boy who looks like... [ gestures to his body. ]

Wh- I didn't turn into a boy. All tree spirits have a main body, their tree, and an independent body that can assume a roughly humanoid form. Two parts of one whole.

Huh...? [ don't think about the mechanics of it mabel. by which i mean lisa. don't think about it lisa. ]

So does that mean you get to pick how you look like?

[Wow it's not complicated, he has two bodies and one of them is a tree!]

Not really? Byakuroku said I look a little bit like my ancestor did when he was younger. This just isn't what I would look like if I were using my full power.

So what would you look like, then? Would you go full [ holds her arms out to mimic tree branches ]

[He thinks for a moment.]

No, I guess I'm sort of like... like a huge bird but with tree branches like antlers coming out where eyes would be? And with hooves like Waddles.
[Patting him, because I remembered he is here. Anyway Tsuyukusa what the fuck.]

w1, saturday

[ as tsuyukusa walks about the grounds, mabel watches. she waits. she prepares.

And then she leaps. From her hiding spot (up in a tree, ironically) she jumps down onto Tsuyukusa and wraps her sweater around his face tightly as she lands on his shoulders and starts trying to choke and/or get him to fall over. ]

SUBMIT!!!!

[branches]

[I mean he's not THAT much bigger than Mabel and completely caught off guard, so he does in fact, fall over!!! Yelping and swearing as he goes.]

Wh-Like hell!
[Even grounded he's going to try and pry her sweater off of him! He will NEVER submit!!]

Waddles, get him!

[ Waddles shows up now too, and does a cute little jump to land on Tsuyukusa's midsection. Meanwhile, Mabel only pulls the sweater tighter around his face. She will not give in! ]

Submit and I stop!!

Whoaaaaa. Cool! Can you show me?

[branches]

[Shakes his head.]

I don't have access to any of my powers here, so I'm stuck like this.

[branches]

[WADDLES NO!!!! DID ALL THOSE PATS MEAN NOTHING!!!]

No way! I'm not losing twice in one night!

Wait, twice? What do you mean, twice?

[ she is still keeping a tight grip on the sweater over his face/her legs over his shoulders, but only to keep it steady. ]
